Brilliant article. Hopefully we will resume the envisioned Constitutional Republic.

I love reading your articles, Dave. They get me to thinking. I was not ever really interested in politics until now. Was there always so much hate for each other??

Yup, Adams and Jefferson, close friends who collaborated on the Declaration of Independence, got crossways with each other during Adams presidency and didnʻt speak to each other for years. Newspapers publish attack articles that not even todayʻs cable networks would carry. Andrew Jackson was a proto-Trumpian. He (and his wife) were viciously attacked, and being the meek, mild guy that he was, he responded with all the flame and fury of one of the dragons in Game of Thrones. Recall that Burr killed Hamilton over what was, at heart, political disagreement. Lincoln was pilloried and called an ape. MGen McClellan, his opponent in 1864, hated him. I doubt that Lincoln hated McC back, he wasnʻt worth hating.

Dave, Great article. Government by experts would work under either or two conditions:

1. The expert was Jesus Christ

2. The experts were completely unbiased which precludes theyʻre being human beings

Since neither of those are about to happen, the "independent agencies" need to go the way of the buggy whip. I have hopes that SCOTUS will see it that way and that someone will bring Wicker v Filburn up and get it overruled.
